5 Wolves in NHL midterm rankings

Five members of the Sudbury Wolves were named on the National Hockey League’s Central Scouting Services (CSS) Midterm Rankings for the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. The rankings, released Jan. 15, include four separate lists for North American and European skaters and goalies.

Defenceman Jeff Corbett, 18 of Uxbridge, was the Wolves’ highest-ranked player, coming in at 66. Following Corbett were forwards Nick Baptiste, 17 of Ottawa, who was ranked 105, Brody Silk, 18 of Iroquois Falls, at 107, and Dominik Kubalik, 17 of the Czech Republic, at 146.

Netminder Franky Palazzese, 19 of Mississauga, was listed at 14 on the North American Goalie rankings, coming in third overall for OHL goalies.

The NHL Entry Draft is set to take place June 30 in Newark, New Jersey.
