Collège Boréal badminton player Valérie Breen secured fourth place in the girls’ single category at the national badminton championship.

Breen, a first-year paramedic student, stood out throughout the entire season up to the championship, which took place Feb. 28 to March 2 in Barrie.

“Being part of the best badminton players at the college level is a dream come true for me,” Breen said. “The encouragement I received from members of Collège Boréal, and especially from my coach, Lynn Michel, and assistant coaches Mike Dionne and Krista McDonald, was essential to reach this result. Today, I am looking to the future and will persevere so that, next year, I can reach the steps of the podium.”

Michel, head coach of Collège Boréal’s Vipères, reiterated her pride in each and every one of the players.

“Valérie and her teammates had a remarkable season. I wish to sincerely congratulate them for their perseverance and diligent work that make it possible for Collège Boréal to be recognized on both the academic and sports scenes.”
